Colonel Jerome C. Greco

Colonel Greco was born in Mt. Kisco, New York in 1980.  He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
 
Throughout his career, Colonel Greco has served as an infantry officer, Middle East foreign area officer, and a recruiting officer.  He has served with multiple Fleet Marine Force units including 1st Battalion 3d Marines, 1st Battalion 24th Marines, 3d Battalion 5th Marines, and 1st Marine Division.  Colonel Greco has deployed twice to Iraq, twice to Afghanistan, once on the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and once on the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa.  His staff tours include Headquarters Marine Corps and Marine Corps Training Mission - United Arab Emirates.
 
Colonel Greco previously commanded Company L, 3d Battalion 5th Marines, Recruiting Station Milwaukee, and 3d Battalion 5th Marines. He assumed command of the 12th Marine Corps District on 12 June 2025.
 
Colonel Greco holds master’s degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College. He completed fellowships at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.  His personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal with combat “V”, Meritorious Service Medal x 4, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps with combat “V,” Combat Action Ribbon, and the Recruiting Ribbon.
