Major Adam C. Sanchez

Major Sanchez is a native of Austin, TX. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 2002 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego. After graduating from The School of Infantry (SOI) as a machine gunner, Major Sanchez reported to Company B, 1st Battalion 7th Marines.

His enlisted deployments in 1st Battalion 7th Marines include The Iraq Invasion in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and OIF II.

In January 2006, Major Sanchez checked into the Marine Combat Instructor Course Camp Pendleton, CA. As a Combat Instructor, Major Sanchez was recognized as the Instructor of the Cycle, the Combat Instructor of the Quarter, and was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant before becoming the Chief Machine Gun Instructor.

Major Sanchez was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program in December 2008. In August 2009, Major Sanchez reported to the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) at Texas A&M University. He completed Officer Candidate School in 2010 as a distinguished graduate. Major Sanchez graduated from Texas A&M with honors and was commissioned in May 2013.

Following graduation from The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course in June 2014, Major Sanchez checked into 2d Battalion 6th Marines, serving as a rifle and weapons platoon commander, company executive officer, and company commander. During this period, he deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as a weapons platoon commander, where his platoon supported Operation Inherent Resolve in northern Iraq. Following the deployment, Major Sanchez served as the Company G company executive officer and company commander. In January 2017, the 2d Marine Division awarded him the Tarawa Award for excellence in leadership.

In 2017, Major Sanchez was assigned as the Officer Selection Officer in Houston, TX, and reported to Recruiting Station Houston in March of that year. In August 2020, Major Sanchez checked into Expeditionary Warfare School.

Following graduation in May 2021, he reported to the 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance (LAR) Battalion and took command of Company A.

In May 2022, Company A was attached to Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 2/5 and deployed in support of the 31st MEU and the 4th Marine Regiment. Major Sanchez graduated from the Naval Command and Staff Distance Education Program in November 2022. Following company command, Major Sanchez served as the Operations Officer for 3d LAR. He reported to Recruiting Station Los Angeles in May 2024, where he serves as the commanding officer.
