Major Gregory Pack

Major Gregory Pack is a native of Clifton Park, NY. In February 2012, he attended boot camp at MCRD Parris Island as a recruit with a reconnaissance contract. Following boot camp, Major Pack attended the School of Infantry-West and the Basic Reconnaissance Course. Upon graduation, Major Pack was assigned orders to 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. While at 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, Major Pack was accepted into the Enlisted Commissioning Program.

In January 2014, he attended Officer Candidates Course, and accepted a commission in March of the same year. Upon graduation from The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course he received his assignment to 2d Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division.

Major Pack served as a Rifle Platoon Commander with E Company, 2d Battalion, 3rd Marines from December 2014 until January 2015, leading 1st Platoon, E Company during the unit’s Unit Deployment Program (UDP) - Okinawa.

In January 2015, Major Pack became the 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander, Weapons Company leading them on another UDP - Okinawa.

In July 2017, Major Pack received orders to 4th Civil Affairs Group (CAG), Force Headquarters Group and assumed duties as the Assistant Inspector-Instructor aboard NOSC Miami in Hialeah, FL. There, his billet consisted of the Executive Officer responsibilities for the Inspector-Instructor staff as well as the Group Assistant Operations Officer.

In August 2020, Major Pack attended Expeditionary Warfare School, graduating in May 2021. Upon graduation, he was assigned to 2d Reconnaissance Battalion.

In May 2021, while at 2d Reconnaissance Battalion, Major Pack assumed command of Headquarters & Services Company. In December 2021, he took command of Alpha Company during their ITP and UTP before taking command of 2d Force Reconnaissance Company in August 2022. In April 2023, he led 2d Force Reconnaissance Company as CTG-61/2.5 on the Recon Counter-Recon deployment under CTF-61/2. In October 2023, he became the Battalion Operations Officer for 2d Reconnaissance Battalion until May 2025. Major Pack took command of Recruit Station Orange County in June 2025.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd Award).

Major Pack received a B.S. in Accounting and Business from SUNY Plattsburgh as well as an MBA in Finance from American Military University. He graduated resident Expeditionary Warfare School in 2021 and Naval Command and Staff.
