Major Johnathan M. Weber
Major Weber was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He reported to Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia in June of 2015. Upon completion of training and graduation from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in August of 2016. In October of that same year he reported to The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia. While at The Basic School he was designated to attend Infantry Officer Course.
Upon graduating from Infantry Officer Course 4-17, Major Weber checked into 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines in October of 2017 to serve as the Training Officer in the Battalion Operations Section. In April of 2018 he deployed with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Central Command 18.2 and began the deployment in Kuwait serving as the Ground Combat Element Liaison Officer to the Command Element combat operations center. Later that same month, he was selected to oversee the physical security of Fire Base Shadaddi, Syria as part of a larger effort of Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Major Weber served as Fire Base Shadaddi Marine security forces officer in charge in support of Army Special Forces in Area of Battle - East. He maintained the Marine Quick Reaction Force, security for the fire base, and security for various patrols through Northeastern Syria. Major Weber redeployed in September of 2018 and was assigned to Weapons Company as a Combined Anti-Armor Team Platoon Commander.
He deployed a second time with Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines to Marine Rotational Force - Darwin in May of 2020. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, his platoon and the majority of Weapons Company deployed to Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan and conducted training on the island of Okinawa until redeployment in September of 2020.
In November 2020, Major Weber reported to Company B, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, 25th Marine Regiment and served as the Inspector-Instructor. He was selected to attend resident Maneuver Captain’s Career Course in December of 2022. He detached from 1st Battalion, 24th Marines in May of 2023. Major Weber graduated from MCCC class 23-04 in December of 2023 and checked into 2D Battalion, 4th Marines that same month to serve as Assistant Operations Officer.
In March of 2024, he took command of Company F and deployed the company from November 2024 to April 2025 aboard the 31st MEU 25.1 patrol as the Boat Company. In May 2025, Major Weber relinquished command of Company F and took command of H&S Company - serving in that role until April 2026. Major Weber reported to Recruiting Station Sacramento in May 2026 where he currently serves.
Major Weber has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major of Political Science and a double-minor in History and Arabic Language & Culture from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln College of Arts and Science.
His military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3x) and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3x).
