Sergeant Major Ricardo G. Lomeli
Sergeant Major Lomeli was born on November 19th, 1985 in Pomona, California. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 13th,
2004 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), San Diego, California. Upon graduation, he was
meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class. Upon completion, Private First Class Lomeli attended Aviation Operation
Specialist Course, at Meridian, Mississippi and subsequently assigned to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2, 2d Marine Aircraft
Wing in Cherry Point, North Carolina.
In July 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. Lance Corporal Lomeli deployed twice with Marine Wing Headquarters
Squadron 2, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 5 and 7. In August 2006, he was promoted to the rank
of Corporal. In February 2008, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In April 2008, he reported to Drill Instructor School, MCRD, San Diego, California and was subsequently assigned to Company E, 2d
Battalion where he served as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. He also served as an instructor for the Water Survival section
and instructor trainer for the Martial Arts section. In February 2011, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In December 2011, he reported to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing where he serves as the Squadron
Operations Chief. In April 2013, he deployed aboard the USS Nimitz in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and potential
Syria operations.
In May 2014, he reported to Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota where he served
as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI). As an AMOI, he supported Officer Candidates School, Quantico, Virginia for the
2014, 2015, and 2016 summer increments serving as a Platoon Sergeant and Sergeant Instructor for Company L. In January 2017, Staff
Sergeant Lomeli was selected as the North West AMOI of the year. In July 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
In December 2017, he reported to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan where he served as
the G-3 Operations Chief and G3 Inspector for General Inspector Team. In August 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Lomeli reported to 3d
Marine Aircraft Wing Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3, Miramar, California where he served as the G-3 Operations Chief and G3
Inspector for the Commanding General Inspector Team.
In December 2020, he was promoted to First Sergeant and reported to 2d Battalion, 1st Marines where he served as the Company First
Sergeant for Company G, Company E, and Headquarters and Service Company. In March 2021, he deployed with the ground combat
element, SPMAGTF-CR and participated in Operation ALLIES REFUGE at the Abby Gate, Hamid Kabul International Airport, Kabul,
Afghanistan. In April 2023, he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 2/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and particpated in
Humanitarian Assistance in support of Papa Guinea. In December of 2023, he was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major.
In June 2024, he reported for duty to Recruiting Station Riverside, California where currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted
Leader.
Sergeant Major Lomeli's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 3 gold star, and 1 “C” device
in lieu of 4, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold star in lieu of 2, and the Combat Action Ribbon. He also has a Masters
and Bachelor's in Homeland Security from Liberty University.
